The academy begins Aug. 31 and concludes with a graduation ceremony Nov. 9. Applications are due by Aug. 9, and enrollment is limited to 40 participants. The program is open to both Cox suppliers and non-suppliers, although priority will be given to businesses that currently work with Cox. Participants who complete the academy will earn continuing education units from Delgado Community College. According to the organizations, the curriculum is designed to help business owners scale their companies while operating responsibly. Participants will develop a business growth plan, earn an industry-recognized credential, receive instruction on artificial intelligence applications for business and strengthen leadership and professional skills. “On behalf of our more than 300 local employees, we’re excited to support the Small Business Leadership Academy, now in its seventh year,” said Sunni LeBeouf, market vice president for Cox Greater New Orleans. “This program gives local entrepreneurs the tools they need to grow and scale their businesses. It’s jam-packed with practical insights, from scaling operations to closing deals, and offers opportunities to learn directly from industry experts.” Delgado officials said the partnership reflects the college’s focus on workforce development and supporting Louisiana’s business community. “Delgado is partnering with Cox to deliver a comprehensive curriculum that will empower business owners and leaders to strengthen every aspect of business operations for greater profitability and sustainability. The program is proven, transformative, and a sincere reflection of our shared commitment to see Louisiana businesses succeed,” said Delgado Chancellor Dr. Larissa Littleton-Steib. Dr. Arlanda Williams-Smith, Delgado’s vice chancellor for workforce development, said entrepreneurs play a key role in driving innovation, job creation and economic growth across the state. “Entrepreneurs provide innovation, workforce opportunities, and economic support to our region and state. Delgado’s partnership with Cox demonstrates our commitment to align training with economic and workforce demands,” Williams-Smith said.
