Three skiers with roots in Sun Valley and accomplishments and contributions to the sport spanning the globe compose the Class of 2026 in the Will and Jean Picket Intermountain Ski Hall of Fame housed in the Alf Engen Ski Museum in the S. J. (Joe) Quinney Winter Sports Center at Utah Olympic Park.   The new inductees are Muffy Davis, a multi-sport Paralympian; Rick Kapala, former cross country director and head coach at the Sun Valley Ski Education Foundation; and the late Graham Anderson, a prominent figure in the governance of alpine ski racing and developer of an insurance brokerage firm that insured most ski areas in North America.  They’ll be inducted into the storied hall on Aug. 20 during ceremonies at the  Chateaux Deer Valley.  Executive Director of the Alf Engen Ski Museum Annie Bommer said that festivities will begin with a reception at 6 p.m. followed by dinner and the induction ceremony.  Tickets to the event cost $165 per person, with sponsorship tables ranging from $2,500 to $3,000. Tickets can be purchased at events.humanitix.com/2026-hof.  The trio’s induction will bring the number of members in the Hall to 97. A complete list of honorees is available online at engenmuseum.org.  Some career highlights of the inductees provided by the Ski Hall of Fame: Muffy Davis Credit: Ski Hall of Fame Muffy Davis was a top-ranked junior skier aiming for the Olympic stage before a 1989  training accident left her paralyzed. Davis pivoted to adaptive sports with historic success. As a mono-skier, she secured four Paralympic medals, a World  Championship gold, and seven World Cup titles. She later transitioned to handcycling, winning three gold medals at the London 2012 Paralympic Games. Outside of sport, she has served her community in the Idaho House of Representatives.  Rick Davis Serving as the director of sport development of the Sun Valley Ski Education Foundation, Rick Kapala has coached of the foundation’s athletes to 40 U.S. National and Junior National Championships, as well as medals at the World Junior Championships and Paralympic Winter Games. A three-time U.S. Ski Snowboard Cross-Country Coach of the Year, he also co-founded the National Nordic  Foundation.  Graham Anderson A titan in ski sport administration, Graham Anderson served as president of the Pacific Northwest Ski Association, the U.S. Ski Association and the Sun Valley Ski Education Foundation. For 40 years, he was a U.S. delegate to the International Ski Federation, known as FIS, where he helped codify the super-G discipline and develop the breakaway race gate. Professionally, he revolutionized resort safety and insurance market competition across North America.
