A multi-vehicle crash caused by what troopers say was careless driving sent two people to the hospital Monday morning and closed eastbound Interstate 76 at E. 88th Avenue for approximately three hours, according to the Colorado State Patrol. Multi-vehicle crash closes eastbound I-76 at E. 88th Ave. for morning commuteThe crash happened around 4:23 a.m. Monday.Troopers said a 2015 Subaru triggered the multivehicle crash after braking hard behind a semi, overcorrecting, and hitting both a Volvo semi and a concrete barrier before spinning back into traffic.The Subaru came to rest in the middle lane, facing westbound. Following the crash, additional vehicles sideswiped the Subaru, CSP said.The 31-year-old male driver of the Subaru exited the vehicle and left the roadway on foot. He was transported to a local hospital with moderate injuries.The Subaru, left unlit and facing the wrong direction in the middle lane, was then struck headon by a 2012 Hyundai whose 66yearold driver is now in critical condition, CSP said.
