The Iranian regime has announced the end of attacks against Israel, while the US president has claimed both sides ‘want a ceasefire’. This comes after Iran and Israel attacked each other’s territory for the first time since a fragile ceasefire took effect in April. The Israeli strikes are in a pparent defiance of Donald Trump, who told Israel’s prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, not to retaliate against Iran, in order to avoid derailing peace talks.
