Recipients of the 79th Annual Tony Awards for the 2025-26 Broadway season were announced tonight (Sunday, June 7), starting at 8 pm, in a star-studded celebration at Radio City Music Hall, presented by the Broadway League and the American Theatre Wing, broadcast live on CBS, and streaming on Paramo unt+. Hosted by P!nk, the program included performances by the casts of the four shows nominated for this year’s Best Musical – The Lost Boys; Schmigadoon!; Titanique; and Two Strangers (Carry a Cake Across New York) – and the three for Best Revival of a Musical – Cats: The Jellicle Ball; Ragtime; The Rocky Horror Show. Preceding the prime-time broadcast, Laura Benanti and Tituss Burgess hosted The Tony Awards: Act One on Pluto TV, from 6:35-8 pm, for the presentation of the first round of awards. Following that came the main event, opening with a seven-minute number, with music and lyrics Benj Pasek, Justin Paul, and Mark Sonnenblick, performed by a Broadway cast of 170. There was also a 15th anniversary reunion performance by the original cast of The Book of Mormon, introduced by the show’s Tony-winning writers, and special tributes to the 50th anniversary of A Chorus Line by Rachel Zegler, the 30th anniversary of Rent, with Leslie Odom, Jr. singing “Without You” for the Tonys’ annual “In Memoriam” segment, and Queen Latifah and P!nk leading an all-star commemoration of Broadway’s record-breaking hit musical Chicago, the #1 longest-running American musical in Broadway history, now in its 30th year since the opening of the revival in 1996. The full roster of presenters for the evening featured Adrien Brody, Annette Bening, Ariana DeBose, Ben Platt, Bernadette Peters, Billy Crystal, Bowen Yang, Brian Stokes Mitchell, Carrie Coon, Cole Escola, Darren Criss, Jack O’Brien, Jeremy Pope, John Leguizamo, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Kara Young, Kelli O’Hara, Kristin Chenoweth, Law Roach, Lena Waithe, Lily Rabe, Maya Rudolph, Megan Thee Stallion, Neil Patrick Harris, Nicole Scherzinger, Patrick Wilson, Paul Rudd, Ruben Santiago-Hudson, Sarah Paulson, and Sting. Of the 24 shows nominated across the Tonys’ 26 competitive categories, leading this year’s awards was Death of a Salesman with six wins, followed by Schmigadoon!, The Lost Boys, and Ragtime with four each. In addition to the competitive awards, previously announced special honors were presented on Friday, May 29. Mary-Mitchell Campbell was recognized with the 2026 Isabelle Stevenson Award for her advocacy work through the arts; André Bishop, Jules Fisher, and James Lapine for Lifetime Achievement in the Theatre; and 1/52 Project, Jake Bell, Kenn Lubin, and Loren Plotkin for Excellence in the Theatre.
