Fort Worth Police said they’re looking for a suspect accused of ‘indiscriminately’ firing a gun in the direction of several people at a gathering in the Stop 6 neighborhood. Police said around 9:10 p.m. on Saturday, officers were dispatched to calls of a shooting in the 5200 block of East Rosedale. FWPD said there was a scheduled gathering at the Stop Six Park, but has no reason to believe the two were related in any way. The event was in the process of winding down when the shooting occurred and it was not at the same location, according to police. In a news release, police said that to the east of the park is a business strip center and an apartment complex. “A suspect, observed dressed in all black, was seen coming around the corner between the apartment community and the businesses. The suspect then fired a gun indiscriminately in the direction of several people gathered in the area. The suspect was then seen running away toward the nearby apartment community,” said Fort Worth Police in a statement. A woman was hit in the head with a bullet and remains in critical condition at the hospital. FWPD said an officer was sitting in his parked squad car along the street outside the gathering when a bullet pierced his windshield. Shrapnel hit the officer in the neck. He was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Police said a child was also grazed in the head by a bullet and taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. Officers said an elderly woman was hit in the hip by gunfire but has non-life-threatening injuries. Police said they do not have anyone in custody and are looking to the community for help.
