On Saturday, the Fairfield community gathered in the parking lot of Fairfield High School to heal following Wednesday’s deadly shooting after a graduation ceremony. The gathering was organized by the Tri-City NAACP and the local community group Broken by Violence. The gathering at Civic Center Park was organizer before authorities identified the 18-year-old killed in the shooting. Those who came to the gathering say this was not about personally knowing the victim, but about helping a community process a traumatic event. “Right now there is nobody being apprehended for this heinous crime, community has to be even more diligent in standing with this family,” said Broken by Violence Executive Director Ebony Antoine.
