A BNSF train derailed Saturday afternoon around 4 p.m. near Petco Park. Three rail cars were affected by the derailment, BNSF told NBC 7. The train was carrying automobiles, and there were no injuries or hazardous materials involved, the company said in a statement. The railcars are lean ing against a bridge pillar on Harbor Drive. It is not yet known if the bridge’s structure has been affected. The San Diego Police Department shutdown Harbor Drive from Switzer Street to Cesar E. Chaves Pkwy. MTS service is not affected.
