Sultry summer weather ahead with daily rain storm chances

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — The next week is going to be very sultry across Central Indiana with plenty of heat, humidity, and daily storm chances.
FRIDAY EVENING/NIGHT:
A few spotty showers storms could be around during the evening north of Indianapolis but most areas
should remain dry. Additional showers storms are possible later tonight after midnight, especially north of Indianapolis. Lows will be in the mid/upper 60s to around 70.
SATURDAY:
Variably cloudy, warm, humid, and a bit breezy. A few spotty showers/storms could be around early with more redevelopment possible later in the day. As of Friday afternoon, recent data suggest higher storm coverage north of I-70 I-74.
While the overall odds of severe weather remain low, some of the storms could produce gusty winds, hail, and torrential rainfall that could lead to localized flooding. Any summer storm can produce dangerous lightning. Afternoon highs will be in the mid 80s but it will become very humid with dew point values surging back into the 60s.
SATURDAY NIGHT:
Mild and muggy with lows in the upper 60s. The chance of additional showers storms will continue.
SUNDAY:
Another warm humid day is on tap with highs in the mid 80s. Additional scattered storms are likely. Once again, a few locally strong/severe storms with gusty winds, hail, torrential rain, and lightning could develop in the warm humid air mass.
7 DAY FORECAST:
Rain storm chances will be a little elevated on Monday Tuesday with a gradual decrease in coverage as the week goes on. Highs will start out the week in the mid 80s with near 90 temperatures by Thursday and Friday. Overnight lows also look like they’ll climb back into the low 70s by the end of the week. The combination of heat and humidity will likely push the heat index well into the 90s by Thursday and Friday.
