Indy Eleven’s “Racing Indy Night” tomorrow
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – The Indy Eleven hope to push their home winning streak to five Saturday night and are hosting Indy Racing Night to help pump up the energy.
Max Johnson, senior director of content communications and digital marketing wi
th Indy Eleven, joined News 8 Daybreak to talk about what fans expect from Saturday’s match against Forward Madison.
“Obviously we’re in Indianapolis. May has just ended and racing fever is still here. We have a lot of activities in our fun zone for families and kids. We’ll have a couple race car drivers come out and, again, a lot of activities for the kids. Then we’ll play Ford Madison in our Prinx Tires Cup.”
In the fun zone, which is a grassy area next to the soccer pitch, there will be inflatables for kids to play with as well as race car drivers and other activities for kids. There will also be food trucks and other vendors for fans to check out.
Johnson wants this night to celebrate Indianapolis race history and how the Indy Eleven helps highlight that.
“We play soccer, it’s not exactly racing. If you look at our crest, though, we have the checkers in there. It’s always been a part of Indiana and Indianapolis. So with us being Indiana’s team, racing has always been a priority for us.”
The Eleven offers a family deal on tickets. For $49, you can get four tickets to the game, a $20 concession voucher, and parking to the event. Johnson says that the deal is not limited to families, though. Any group of four can purchase this bundle.
Racing Indy Night is one of several themed nights for the Indy Eleven:
July 4: Indy-pendence Day
Aug. 22: Noche Latina
Sept. 5: Oktoberfest
Oct. 10: Fan appreciation night
