Son Suspected of Killing Father Thursday at Ashland Home

The Saunders County Sheriff’s Office said in a release late Thursday night
to KFOR News that the 911 center received a phone call shortly after 4:30pm about a shooting that took place in the 1700 block of Dawes Street in Ashland. After negotiating with the caller and suspect in the incident, the suspect, now identified as 31-year-old Robert Haswell, Jr., was taken into custody by Ashland Police. He was arrested on suspicion of first-degree murder and use of a deadly weapon to commit a felony and put in the Saunders County Jail at Wahoo.
Deputies have identified the victim as 67-year-old Robert Haswell, Sr. He suffered at least one gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Family members have been notified by the Saunders County Sheriff’s Office and the investigation is ongoing. No word yet on what may have led to the the shooting.
