(CNN)– Robots are getting jobs at Amazon. The retailer unveiled the next generation of its proteus fulfillment warehouse robot in London. It can move through an entire facility and uses Ai so workers can give it instructions in plain english. That’s a huge upgrade over the original model that was only equipped to work in loading docks. It’s the product of an $11.6 billion investment Amazon made to modernize fulfillment in Europe. The company says the robot will free workers up to focus on higher skilled work.
