The 2026 Super Bowl generated an estimated $720 million in total economic activity for the San Francisco Bay Area, tripling the impact of the game hosted in the region a decade ago, according to a report released Thursday.
The post-event economic analysis, conducted by the Boston Consulting Group
on behalf of the Bay Area Host Committee, showed that the total financial impact exceeded initial 2024 projections.
According to the report, the economic benefits were distributed throughout the region. San Francisco County captured approximately $425 million, Santa Clara County drew about $195 million and the surrounding Bay Area counties accounted for roughly $100 million.
The event also generated approximately $330 million in labor income for local workers and produced about $20 million in tax revenues for municipal governments, the report said.
“Super Bowl sixty was truly a transformational event for the Bay Area,” said Zaileen Janmohamed, president and CEO of the Bay Area Host Committee. “We’ve demonstrated that the Bay Area’s world-class infrastructure, hospitality, and business ecosystem can deliver meaningful economic benefits that extend far beyond game day.”
Janmohamed added that the $720 million impact represents “real jobs, real wages and real investment” across all nine counties of the region.
The financial results represent a massive increase over the 2016 Super Bowl, which was held at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara.
