The Connecticut Association of School Librarians (CASL) announced on Thursday that Hillhouse High School Principal Antoine Billy and Assistant Principal Shanette Robinson have won the organization’s annual Administrator’s Award. See below for the press release announcing that award.

, CT – The Connecticut Association of School Librarians (CASL) is pleased to announce the winners of the 2026 prestigious Administrator’s Award, recognizing administrators who have demonstrated exceptional support for improving media services within their school/district. The award acknowledges the recipient’s dedication in providing encouragement and adequate funding for program success and advancement.
“The CASL Administrator’s Award is a testament to the outstanding leadership and unwavering support this administrator has provided to their school library program,” said Valerie DiLorenzo, President of CASL. “Their commitment to fostering a dynamic and impactful personalized learning environment for students and providing the necessary resources has made a significant impact on the educational journey of countless students. We are delighted to honor them for their exceptional dedication.”
As Library Media Specialist Malcolm Welfare states in his nomination, “Dr. Antoine Billy’s leadership is defined by a steadfast commitment to expanding the library’s reach through diverse and engaging initiatives.” Nominating both Principal Antoine Billy and Assistant Principal Shanette Robinson showed a strong support of the program and Mr. Welfare also stated, “Shanette Robinson has been a masterful administrator and the architectural force behind the modern transformation of the Hillhouse Library Media Center.”
