The Colorado Springs Police Department had issued a shelter-in-place order for 2600 Verde Drive, near Circle Drive and Fountain Boulevard.As of 8:00 a.m., that shelter-in-place order has been lifted.According to police, they res ponded after a woman reported her 26-year-old son, Alexander Ayers, had allegedly assaulted her and threatened her with a knife.Using drones, officers were able to keep track of the woman who had run out of the apartment, which allowed officers to immediately connect with her and take her to a hospital for the injuries she received.According to our crew on scene, the person surrendered peacefully after multiple hours on Thursday morning.No details on the suspect have been released at the time of this update. ____Watch KOAA News5 on your time, anytime with our free streaming app available for your Roku, FireTV, AppleTV and Android TV.
