Marcus’ 4 a.m. Wednesday forecast
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Mostly sunny skies with low humidity and comfortable temperatures.
Today Through Friday: About as Good as It Gets
A large area of Canadian high pressure system is delivering some of the most pleasant early-summer weather Centr
al Indiana has seen in weeks.
Skies will be mostly sunny with just some afternoon cumulus clouds. Humidity is running very low again today, with dew points around 50°. Dew points will creep closer to 60° by Friday as southerly winds pick up, but nothing oppressive.
Temperatures nudge upward through the week, from the low 80s today to the mid-80s by Friday.
No rain or storms in the forecast through Friday evening.
Late Friday Night Through Sunday: Rain and Storms Return
The pleasant stretch ends this weekend. A upper level wave crossing the Great Lakes Saturday into Sunday will tap into a Gulf moisture. Rain chances ramp up overnight Friday night, with the best chances for numerous showers and a few thunderstorms running through Saturday afternoon and evening.
Widespread rain across the state doesn’t look likely, but a meaningful soaking is possible for parts of the area. A few thunderstorms are expected mixed in with the rain. Severe weather isn’t expected at time time.
Next Week: Typical Early Summer Pattern
After the weekend system clears, a new upper ridge building from the southern Plains northeastward takes over, and the pattern settles into a fairly classic early-summer setup — warm but not extreme, moderately humid, with occasional afternoon and evening showers and storms driven more by daytime heating.
Expect highs in the 80s, overnight lows in the 60s, and dew points holding in the 60s. No significant rainfall events are expected, just some summer time pop up storms each afternoon.
