Update 5:10 p.m.Big Horn County Sheriff Jeramie Middlestead said in a news release that the threat was similar to other "swatting" calls that have happened across the state. Earlier this week, threats were called into malls in B
illings, Missoula and Bozeman, sparking a large police response and evacuations.Middlestead said law enforcement does not believe an ongoing threat exists at Little Big Horn College.Here's the full release:On June 2,2O26 at about 12:40pm law enforcement received a call from an anonymous number threating anactive shooter event at the Little Big Hom College.Multiple law enforcement agencies, (Big Hom County Sheriffs Office, BIA, MHP, Tribal Fish Game, Tribal Security and FBI), responded to the scene.The campus, students and staff were secured and the College along with other surrounding schools and offices were placed in lockdown. As of 3:20pm the lockdown has been lifted and law enforcement does not believe there is an on-going threat to the public.This investigation is still on going but as of right now appears to be of similar circumstances to the other "swatting" calls that have been happening recently around the state.Thank you to all agencies that assisted with this call and to the public for your respectfulness and understanding in this critical event. All law enforcement around Big Hom County and the great State of Montana are committed to the protection and service of the public. When everyone works together in these events it makes the job of protecting and serving much smoother and safer for everyone.Update 4:45 p.m.A lockdown at Little Big Horn College was lifted at 3:20 p.m., and the Big Horn County Sheriff's Office does not believe any threat to public safety remains.Further information will be released later, according to the sheriff's office.(original story)A "heavy law enforcement presence" is at Little Big Horn College on the Crow reservation following a threatening call, according to authorities.The Big Horn County Sheriff's office said the anonymous call was placed around 12:40 p.m., and the public is asked to stay away from the campus in Crow Agency.Law enforcement will provide updates as they become available.
