Jun 02, 2026
Six people — including children — were hospitalized, fire officials said, after flames tore through a home in Pine Hill, New Jersey early Tuesday.
According to Pine Hill Fire Battalion Chief Sal Pizzo, the six people who have been hospitalized all made it out of a fire at a home along the th
e 100 block of Erial Road, that began at about 1 a.m. on Tuesday.
Pizzo said that, when crews arrived, the home was engulfed in flames with fire pouring out of the first and second floors as well as from the basement.
All six of the individuals at the home, Pizzo said, were hospitalized after suffering injuries in the fire.
However, he did not immediately have further identifying information on these individuals or the severity of their injuries. But, he said some of those hospitalized were children.
Response to the fire, Pizzo said, was labor intensive as crews needed to stretch hoses about 800 or 900 feet in order to get water on the flames.
But, after about 40 minutes, he said, the fire was considered under control.
No cause of the fire has been determined but, Pizzo said, an investigation is ongoing.
This is a breaking news story. It will be updated as new information becomes available.
