A man died after a hit-and-run crash in South Philadelphia overnight, police said. The crash happened just after 10:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 30, 2026, at South 11th and Federal streets. According to police, a white 2013 Ford F-250 van was traveling northbound in the 1100 block of South 11th S treet when the driver appeared to lose control of the vehicle and struck a Chevrolet Express van that was legally parked and unoccupied. At the time of the collision, a 75-year-old man was standing between a Chevrolet Express Van and a Land Rover, which were legally parked and unoccupied.   Police said the impact pushed the Chevrolet into the man, pinning him against the Land Rover. The driver of the vehicle reportedly attempted to help the man but was unsuccessful, then fled the scene on foot, according to police. The driver was last seen traveling southbound on South 11th Street before turning eastbound onto Latona Street.  The man was taken to a nearby hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
