One person was hospitalized and another person was taken into custody after a shooting in a hotel parking lot near Philadelphia International Airport, police said.
Police said the incident happened right outside the Hampton Inn on Bartram Avenue overnight.
Investigators had taped off the area
around the hotel and were seen examining several bullet shell casings.
Police said one person is in custody, there are no additional suspects, and they do not believe there is any danger to the public.
Other people were staying at the hotel at the time of the shooting; however, no other injuries have been reported.
NBC10 spoke with Pat McCaldick, a hotel guest, who woke up to find a crime scene right in the parking lot.
“It’s kind of a shocker I wasn’t able to get to my truck and I saw the crime tape and I thought it was serious. Then I heard the news, and now I know it’s serious,” said McCaldrick.
Ariel Ascanio told NBC10 that they heard the shots and screaming.
“It was like 4:35, and we heard a couple of gunshots, and it woke us up. We were on the sixth floor up there and then a lot of screaming,” said Ascanio.
Investigators have not said what led to the shooting. The investigation is ongoing.
