Delicious Isla Segal, 15, Woodstock Delicious is the way summer tastes, salt water, lake water, strawberry stains. It’s bathing suits soaking through shorts, and ice cream soaking through cones. Ice cream we both forgot to eat because it was so delicious, because the moment was so sweet. I was just sitting there, watching the sunset but really watching you. Your hair down, waving with the wind, and light bouncing off it, making it golden. You’re so golden. You were talking, and your mouth was moving fast like it used to, before you thought so much. God, I sound like your mother’s birthday cards. I was hearing your words, really the sound of them, like no one was listening, or you didn’t care. It was so delicious. So pretty, so golden. I forgot to eat my chocolate ice cream, and anyway, after you eat the sprinkles it really doesn’t taste as good, so it’s fine, don’t feel bad. It was all so sweet. The sun set and the moon rose and the stars started whispering. It was so delicious, our wet shorts, and a blanket we shared, when it got cold, and the fresh red juice that I could taste on my tongue from hours ago.
