VAN WERT, Ohio (WOWO) – Van Wert is moving forward with a massive economic development project. Just weeks after receiving approval from city council, QTS Data Centers announced plans for a roughly $10 billion, 900-acre data center campus. Company officials say the project will create more than 1 ,500 construction jobs, about 200 permanent positions, and generate an estimated $200 million in tax revenue over the next 20 years. Supporters see the development as a major boost for Northwest Ohio, while opponents continue to raise concerns about environmental impacts, including water usage, noise and light pollution. A public information meeting is scheduled for June 11 at the Vantage Career Center at 5 p.m. The post Van Wert Moves Forward With Data Center appeared first on WOWO News/Talk 92.3 FM and 1190 AM. ...read more read less
