The University of North Texas Mean Green football team will take on the reigning national champions, the Indiana Hoosiers, to kick off their 2026 season Saturday, Sept. 5. The game will take place in Bloomington at 11 a.m. CST. North Texas’s first home game will be against UNLV on Saturday, Sep t. 12. UNT is coming off of one of its most successful seasons in school history, going 12-2 and winning the Isleta New Mexico Bowl over San Diego State. They now have a new head coach and starting quarterback. Former head coach Eric Morris and starting QB Drew Mestemaker left for Oklahoma State.
