Atlanta Blackowned construction company celebrates 50th anniversary
May 27, 2026
Rohadfox Corporation, one of Atlanta’s oldest minority-owned construction and program management firms, celebrated its 50th anniversary here recently, marking five decades of infrastructure development and community impact.
The milestone was anchored by an official city proclamation declaring
May 15 as “Joy Rohadfox Day,” honoring the company’s current CEO.
The invite-only “50 Shades of Blue” gala drew a high-profile crowd of civic and industry leaders to reflect on the firm’s role in shaping Atlanta’s transportation and transit landscapes.
Among the attendees were Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens, Georgia Department of Transportation Commissioners Dana Lemon and Stacey Key, and Atlanta City Council members Marcia Collier Overstreet, Byron Amos, and Andrea Boone. Union City Mayor Vince R. Williams and county Commissioners Neat Robinson and Carlotta Harrell were also present, alongside former MARTA CEO Keith Parker.

During the presentation, Mayor Dickens emphasized that the firm’s longevity and contributions to infrastructure serve as a model for sustained urban impact and expanded economic opportunity.
“This recognition from the City of Atlanta is not only an honor, but it also reinforces the responsibility we carry to continue creating impact through our work, our partnerships, and our presence in the community,” Joy Rohadfox said.
Founded in 1976, Rohadfox Corporation has evolved from its roots into a global, woman-owned and women-led enterprise. The company has managed major aviation, transit, and municipal infrastructure projects across the United States.
“Fifty years is not simply a milestone—it is a testament to faith, fortitude, and the relationships that carried us here,” Rohadfox said. “This celebration honors my father’s founding vision, the employees who built alongside him, and the partners and clients who believed in us when doors were not always open.”

As part of the anniversary, the company incorporated its corporate social responsibility initiative, “Step Forward with Rohadfox,” by donating more than 600 pairs of shoes to the Atlanta Mission, a local nonprofit serving people experiencing homelessness.
“Shoes represent more than necessity,” Rohadfox said. “They symbolize movement, dignity, and forward progress. As we celebrate 50 years of walking boldly in our purpose, we are committed to helping others take their next step with confidence and hope.”
