San Diego weather: Cloudy and cooler pattern
May 26, 2026
Early marine layer clouds are providing patchy drizzle and even a few light showers across the county this morning. Onshore winds will be stronger today with cooler daytime highs. A WIND ADVISORY is in effect for mountains and deserts from 3pm today – 5am Thursday for West winds 20-30mph, gusting
to 60mph.
This strong onshore flow will keep our marine layer in place and more saturated for the next few days.
Expect cloudy skies and patchy drizzle through Thursday morning, then as the onshore flow weakens, we should begin to see more gradual clearing in the afternoon later this week. Temperatures will be slowly warming through the end of the week and into the weekend with more gradual clearing over the weekend.
TODAY
Coast: AM drizzle, cloudy – mid 60s
Inland: AM drizzle, mostly cloudy – mid to upper 60s
Mountains: AM drizzle, winds increasing – around 60
Deserts: sunny, windy – mid 80s
