Two people were hurt and an AC Transit bus driver was rescued following a crash in Oakland, the fire department said on Sunday. The fire department reported the crash occurred at around 11:45 p.m. Authorities with AC Transit said, however, the crash happened just after midnight. According to A C Transit, a Toyota Camry was traveling north on 98th Avenue towards I-580 when it reportedly ran a red light and collided with the bus, causing the bus to leave the roadway and hit the exterior of a building at 98th Avenue and MacArthur Boulevard. AC Transit also said an officer reportedly witnessed the Camry’s driver running the red light. Authorities said two people were injured, and the bus driver was trapped for a short time until they were eventually rescued.
