INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Indy 500 rookie Caio Collet crashed on lap 193 of the Indy 500. Collet was able to climb out of his car under his own power after his car caught on fire. Collet’s crash knocked him out of the race with just seven laps left. His crash signaled a red flag, and a re start ensued on the 196th lap, but that wouldn’t be the last caution. During the restart on the 196th lap, Indy 500 rookie Mick Schumacher side-swiped the wall in Turn 2, which called for the final yellow flag of the afternoon. Schumacher’s slip-up made for one more restart on the 199th lap. The entire field then went on a one-lap shootout to decide the race, with Felix Rosenqvist coming out on top.
