WHEAT RIDGE, Colo. The eastbound lanes of Interstate 70 are back open in Wheat Ridge, more than 12 hours after a deadly, 5-vehicle crash overnight.The crash on east I-70, between Ward Road and Kipling Street, occurred at around 2:40 a.m. Saturday, according to the Wheat Ridge Police Department.Watch the latest on this story in the video below: Eastbound I-70 reopens in Wheat Ridge more than 12 hours after fatal, 5-vehicle crashPhotos from the scene posted by Wheat Ridge police showed a semi hauling what appeared to be furniture on its side. Four other vehicles were also involved in the crash, a Wheat Ridge police spokesperson said.Later Saturday, police confirmed an 18-year-old driver had been killed in the crash. Three other people injured in the crash suffered serious bodily injuries but their injuries were not considered to be life-threatening, a police department spokesperson added.The circumstances that led to the crash were not immediately available. While police investigated the crash, eastbound traffic on I-70 was being diverted to Ward Road.
