Just days after a deadly shooting at a mosque in San Diego, Bay area Muslims gathered to pray on Friday, and they got some extra support from people of other faiths. Muslims walked in to pray at different mosques throughout the Bay Area, and they were met outside by Christians and Jews holding si gns and standing in unity. After Monday’s deadly shooting at a mosque in San Diego, a South Bay group called the Abrahamic Alliance put the word out and people showed up. “The biggest thing is to come together at these tough times, it doesn’t matter what religion you are. You want to make sure the community is safe,” said Dr. Saquib Hasan, president of the Evergreen Islamic Center. Those who came to stand with the Muslim community say they felt the appreciation. “I mean, afterwards, having people come up and just say how thankful they are, I just had a hard time not tearing up, because, you know?” said Iris Bendahan, with the Congregation Beth David.
