Graham and his mother, Christina Reves, appeared on News 8’s Daybreak to discuss the contest and how people can vote.
Graham has a strong passion for wildlife conservation, saying his love of nature blossomed when he was a little kid on walks with his mom.
“Well, to be honest, my whole life, my mom and I have, in the mornings, we have done nature walks,” Graham said. And it’s only grown from there.
Graham’s mom, Christina, weighed in on the origins of the competition. “It’s from Ranger Rick Magazine, and they offer this opportunity for the kids to get involved, which is really cool.”
She added that Graham’s love for animals is evident during their travels. “His biggest thing is learning about animals every time we travel, which we try to do as much as possible,” Christina said.
If Graham wins, he will receive a unique experience with Jeff Corwin. Corwin, a biologist and conservationist, is a well-known face on Saturday morning wildlife shows, including “Ocean Mysteries,” “Extraordinary World with Jeff Corwin,” and “Jeff Corwin Unleashed.”
Though the nature of the experience is unknown, Graham says it would be the experience of a lifetime.
