CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Bomb Squad responded to a business in the 6800 block of Brookshire Boulevard in northwest Charlotte after dynamite was discovered on the property. The call for help came around 7:30PM Wednesday. Police say the business routinely uses dynamite i n their operations, but this “condition of the specific items discovered necessitated expert intervention.” CMPD’s team is using specialized equipment and training to render the items safe. There are temporary road closures in the area while the crews work. There have also been some voluntary evacuations in the area, as a precautionary measure.
