NJ man pleads guilty to beating pregnant woman to death with baseball bat

A 28-year-old Pleasantville, New Jersey man is facing decades in prison after, officials said, he pleaded guilty to beating his pregnant partner to death in December of 2024.
According to police, in court on Tuesday, Boris Lainez-Rosales, 28, of Pleasantville, NJ, pleaded guilty to one count of
first-degree murder in connection with the death of his live-in girlfriend, Leslianette Quintana-Betancourt, 25, also of Pleasantville.

Officials said, along with this plea, Lainez-Rosales faces a sentence of 30 years in New Jersey State prison without the possibility of parole.
With the plea, Lainez-Rosales admitted that he attacked Quintana-Betancourt — who was pregnant at the time — with a baseball bat at their Pleasantville home along the 100 block of Edgewater Avenue in Pleasantville, NJ, on Monday, Dec. 2, 2024, causing her death.
A sentencing hearing for Lainez-Rosales is scheduled for July 31, 2026.
