The Smashing Pumpkins to rock Indianapolis in October tour stop

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — American alternative rock band The Smashing Pumpkins will make a tour stop in October at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in downtown Indianapolis, Live Nation Indiana announced in a Monday news release.

use’s website, which lists presale ticket sales start Tuesday.
General ticket sales will being at 10 a.m. Thursday at smashingpumpkins.com, and the link will send users to the website Bandsintown. Ticket prices were not listed in the release or on the website on Monday night.
The band’s fan favorite “1979” was released in 1996. The Smashing Pumpkins’ “Bullet with Butterfly Wings” won Best Hard Rock Performance at the Grammy Awards in 1997, while “The End is the Beginning is the End” won the same award in 1998.
The tour comes after the band last year celebrated the 30th anniversary of its album “Mellon Collie And The Infinite Sadness.” Billy Corgan, lead singer and founder of The Smashing Pumpkins, said in the release that a “Mellon Collie”-themed show has been discussed for over a decade.
