An investigation is underway after police said a dog was left abandoned along a street in New Jersey. According to the New Jersey State Police, on March 24, troopers received reports of an abandoned dog on Main Street in Lebanon Borough, Hunterdon County. When officers got to the scene, polic e said animal control was contacted and ultimately took the dog into custody. Police obtained surveillance video that showed the moment the dog was left behind. The video showed a black, four-door Nissan Altima driving along Main Street and stopping near a fire hydrant. A woman exited the car, wearing a red long-sleeve shirt and black pants, and she was holding the dog on a leash. The woman walks the dog around the rear of the Nissan, then steps out of the camera’s view. She reappears again without the dog, enters the vehicle, and leaves the scene.
