A homicide investigation was underway early Monday, officials said, after police responded to a report of a burglary at a home in the Rhawnhurst section of Northeast Philadelphia overnight. Early Monday, investigators from the Philadelphia Police Department’s homicide investigation unit were w orking at the scene at a home along the 1600 block of Griffith Street in Northeast Philadelphia. However, officials did not immediately provide details on the incident under investigation or provide any information about any individuals who may have been involved in this case. But, at about 1:30 a.m., on Monday, officials said, police were called to the property on a report of a burglary. In the morning, NBC10’s Brenna Weick spotted investigators checking out a vehicle outside of the home. Also, police were seen letting some people enter the home as the investigation was underway on Monday morning. As of about 6:45 a.m., police have not detailed what happened at the home or provided any further details on anyone involved. But, police did say a homicide investigation was underway.
