More summer-like days are here to kick off the week. Expect plenty of sunshine and hot temperatures across the region. Whether you’re spending time outside, by the pool, don’t forget the sunscreen and water. UV levels will be intense, and the humidity will make it feel even warmer throu gh the afternoon. Temperatures today climb close to 90 degrees. Afternoon highs from today through Wednesday are expected to stay in the lower 90s, putting us well above normal for mid-May. Changes finally arrive later this week as a cold front drifts towards us on Thursday. There’s a possibility the system slows down and lingers nearby, which could keep scattered rain chances around for several days. Rainfall totals still don’t look overly impressive at this point, but the region could pick up anywhere from around half an inch to near one inch of rain between Thursday and next weekend.
