Gloucester County community holds vigil for boy struck and killed by school bus

Family, friends and first responders from Greenwich Township, Gloucester County, held a vigil for 7-year-old Hunter Smith, who was struck and killed by a school bus on May 8.
Smith’s tragic death devastated the small South Jersey community, who gathered for a vigil on Sunday night to remember t
he beloved boy and offer support for his family.

The incident happened near the intersection of Bennett Avenue and Ashton Drive in Greenwich Township around 3:40 p.m. on Friday, May 8, police said. According to officials, the child was getting off of the bus when he was hit.
Neighbors gave the child CPR at the scene before he was taken to a nearby hospital where he died, police told NBC10.
An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
