TELL CITY, Ind. (WISH) — A search for a man wanted in Noblesville led to the arrest of two people on multiple criminal charges on Thursday in an Indiana city along the Ohio River, state police said in a Friday news release. Zachary P. Duncan and Haley Burton, both of Tell City, were arreste d on charges that included dealing methamphetamine and neglect of a dependent. Both suspects were taken to the Perry County Jail. On Wednesday, the Noblesville Police Department asked the Indiana State Police for help to find Duncan. Hamilton Superior Court 5 in September 2024 issued an arrest warrant on charges against Duncan that include possession of meth, causing serious bodily injury when operating a vehicle with a controlled substance, and unlawful possession of a syringe. Court records show Duncan, at that time, lived in the Lakes at Prairie Crossing housing subdivision in Noblesville. Officers on Thursday saw Duncan leaving a home in a vehicle, which led to a traffic stop. A juvenile was seated in the vehicle’s backseat. A police dog from the Perry County Sheriff’s Office alerted investigators to illegal narcotics in the vehicle. A search warrant for Duncan’s apartment led investigators to find approximately 850 hypodermic needles and about a third of a pound of suspected methamphetamine. The release said, “Many of the needles contained suspected methamphetamine, blood, and several were used with exposed needles.” The release also said, “Officers determined Duncan and Burton were the parents of the juvenile child residing at the home. The Indiana Department of Child Services was notified.” Burton, 29, and Duncan, 30, face preliminary felony charges that include dealing methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine, neglect of a dependent, and possession of a hypodermic syringe. Online records did not show formal charges filed Friday night in a Perry County court. Tell City, with 7,500 residents, is about a 70-minute drive east of downtown Evansville. ...read more read less
