A man is in custody after he barricaded himself inside a building near the Police and Fire Credit Union in Center City on Thursday, according to Philadelphia police. The armed man was inside a building on the 900 block of Arch Street at 11:32 a.m., police said. A barricade situation was declared at 12:11 p.m. and police set up a staging area on the 100 block of North 9th Street. SkyForce10 captured a large police presence — including a SWAT team — on 9th and Arch streets where traffic was blocked around 12:40 p.m. Around 1:50 p.m., the man — who has not yet been identified — was taken into custody by police and officials confirmed the barricade situation was over.
