HANOVER COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- Free family films will return to the Ashland Theatre this summer with a 10-week lineup. On Tuesday, May 12, the theatre announced that the Free Movie Monday Summer Series will include family-favorite films, such as "Sing," "Shrek 2" and the live action "How to Train Your Dragon," according to a press release. “We were blown away by the response to last summer’s Free Movie Monday series, with an incredible 4,512 tickets booked over ten weeks,” said Executive Director Courtney F. Caldwell in a release. “We are so happy to once again have the opportunity to make the series free thanks to Rappahannock Electric Cooperative.  Our Theatre is a community destination and should be enjoyed by everyone.” The series, which is made possible thanks to support from the Rappahannock Electric Cooperative, will run from Monday, June 8, through Monday, Aug. 10, with showtimes at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. each Monday, according to organizers. Registration for tickets will open at 5 p.m. on the night before the film is shown.
