EMPORIA, Va. (WRIC) -- A missing man last seen in the city of Emporia may be in danger, according to police. The morning of Tuesday, May 12, the Emporia Police Department issued a missing persons alert for Jesse James Cherry, III. According to police, he was last seen at around 8:30 p.m. on Sunday , May 10, leaving in a silver 2004 Lexus ES 330. Cherry, pictured below, is described by police as a 6-foot-four-inch-tall Black man who weighs about 235 pounds. He has black hair in cornrows and brown eyes, police said. Officials said there is no indication of foul play at this time, but officers are actively attempting to locate him to ensure his safety.
