The Philadelphia Flyers may have been eliminated from the chase for the Stanley Cup, but fans still showed the boys in orange and black support with a standing ovation after Saturday’s loss. And, on Monday, the Flyers organization thanked fans for their support all along the way saying the fans ’ commitment and the atmosphere they brought to home games, “gave us chills.” The Flyers note that the standing ovation following Saturday’s loss stuck out for the team as “an emotional reminder of why we do what we do.” “And trust us, our players and coaches took notice,” the letter reads. The letter ends with a thank you to fans for their support and a promise that “what we experienced together this season is only the beginning.” Following Saturday’s end of the Flyers season, the Sixers ended their season in the same building — Xfinity Mobile Arena — with a loss to the New York Knicks less than 24 hours later.
