HANOVER COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — The Hanover County NAACP is hosting its annual Juneteenth celebration to observe and celebrate the holiday this June. The 2026 Juneteenth Concert and Book Festival will take place on Saturday, June 13, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., at Randolph-Macon College in Ashland. The celebration is a day of empowerment, education, food, music and community, organizers said. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet players from the Washington Commanders and enjoy performances by the Richmond-based harmony group Crowded Minds Trio and England's Another Level Band. Other appearances include Torski from Line Dancing with Torski, Roger Brown wih Hanover Black History Skit, Hampton University's poet laureate Maya Powell and comedian James Lawson. The free event will feature live entertainment, food and sales vendors, author book signings, fitness demos, empowerment workshops and other community resources.
