Waterfront Gallery for the Arts in Pierre (207 E. Missouri Ave) is hosting an opening reception today (May 8, 2026) showcasing original artwork by students in the central South Dakota region. The reception goes from 4-7pm CT. Work by students from T.F. Riggs High School in Pierre, Pierre Indian Lear ning Center, the Agar-Blunt-Onida School District and more will be on display. There will be a special exhibit of the Governor’s Student Art Competition winners, provided by the South Dakota Arts Council. There will be free refreshments and a variety of arts activities. The reception is free, but donations are welcome. The exhibit ends May 22.
