RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– A Midlands couple is surprised after scratching tickets together led to a big win for them, said lottery officials. The Midlands couple is debt free after the wife scratched off a $200,000 lottery win on a $5 ticket. The wife told lottery officials that she brought home a few tickets from Harry’s on Two Notch Road in Columbia. And while her husband was scratching away on his card, she was staring at hers. “Is this real?” she asked him. Both of them were shocked to discover a top prize win on the lottery’s new Star Power ticket was theirs. “It was a big relief,” she wife told lottery officials. The couple plan to take care of a few small debts before considering any splurges, says SC Lottery officials. The odds of winning $200,000 in the Star Power game are 1 in 760,000.
