WALNUT CREEK, Calif. (KRON) -- A pizzeria in Walnut Creek closed for good over the weekend. Pizza My Heart, located at the corner of Botelho Drive and S California Boulevard, held its last day of business on Saturday, May 2. Pizza My Heart opened back in 2017, ending a near-decade run in the city' s downtown area. Despite closing in Walnut Creek, Pizza My Heart did not rule out an eventual return to the ritzy East Bay suburb. The pizzeria did not provide a reason why it closed that location. "Sadly, this location has closed," a sign outside the restaurant's door reads. "We have truly enjoyed serving this amazing community. Thank you for being part of our story. We hope to be back in Walnut Creek at some point so be on the lookout!" Pizza My Heart stated that "most" of the Walnut Creek employees have been transferred to the nearby Pleasant Hill location, where the pizzeria is prompting its customers to go.
