NOTTOWAY COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- A 40-year-old Petersburg man is dead and two others were flown to a hospital after a crash in Nottoway County on Sunday. At about 1:55 a.m. on Sunday, May 3, Virginia State Police troopers were called to Route 460 eastbound just east of Cox Road in Nottoway County. P olice said a 2024 Kia sedan ran off the left side of the roadway and hit two trees. The driver, a 37-year-old Prince George County man, and a passenger, a 40-year-old woman, were flown to a Richmond hospital for treatment of their injuries. According to police, 40-year-old Clarence Eugene Jones Jr., of Petersburg, was flown to a different Richmond hospital, where he later died due to his injuries. He was not wearing a seatbelt.
