May 02, 2026
One man was killed and another was hurt following a road rage shooting in Philadelphia’s Kingsessing neighborhood on Saturday, Philadelphia Police Inspector DF Pace said.
According to Pace, a double shooting took place at the 5200 block of Chester Avenue at around 4:48 p.m. after a person driv
ing a Toyota SUV got into an argument with a group riding e-bikes.
The reason for the argument is unknown at this time, but the road rage incident resulted in the driver of the Toyota opening fire on the group of cyclists, Pace said.
The Toyota was described as light-colored, possibly gold or yellow, but had portions in other colors throughout, Pace said.
The man killed was shot in the chest three times and has only been described as someone likely between the ages of 17 and 21, while the 25-year-old man injured was shot in the arm, Pace said.
Police are still looking for the shooter and the car involved, and anyone with any information on the incident is urged to contact the Philadelphia Police Department at 215-686-TIPS (8477) or anonymously online here.
