HUDSON, N.C. – Hudson Police evacuated the Walmart on Hickory Boulevard Friday afternoon, after they say a man pulled a grenade out of his pocket in one of the store aisles. Police say 24-year-old Alexander Little called 911 saying he saw a man with a grenade walk into the Walmart. He then gave operators a description of himself. Police arrived on the scene and located Little inside the store. Officers then evacuated the store when Little took the fake grenade out of his pocket. The police and Little were in a standoff while Little threatened to use the grenade. Officers were able to determine the grenade was inert. They used “less-lethal force” to take him into custody. Little’s charges include possession of a weapon of mass destruction, and a false bomb report. He is in the Caldwell Co. Detention Center with no bond. ...read more read less
