(KRON) -- The San Francisco Police Department arrested two minors who allegedly brandished a firearm at a victim earlier this year. At the scene, officers made contact with the victim who said he was involved in a verbal altercation with two people inside of a grocery store. After the altercation, the victim said the two subjects fled the scene before returning a short while later.
It was at that time they allegedly brandished a firearm while threatening the victim. The two suspects then fled the scene again, this time on a scooter, police said.
SFPD officers in the Real Time Investigation Center (RTIC) got photographs of the suspects and sent them out to patrol officers. The suspects were quickly spotted in the area of 8th and Market streets, police said.
A plan was coordinated to apprehend the suspects. After what police described as a "brief foot pursuit," officers took the suspects into custody, recovering a firearm with an extended magazine on one of them.
The suspects, both juvenile males, were placed under arrest. The first of the two suspects was transported to the Community Assessment and Referral Center and cited for conspiracy and resisting an officer.
The second suspect was transported to the Juvenile Justice Center and booked for carrying a loaded firearm, minor in possession of a firearm, armed with a firearm in the commission of a felony, brandishing a firearm, and making criminal threats.
Due to the ages of the suspects, police are not releasing their identities. Although arrests have been made, police say the investigation is ongoing.
